 Minions is an American animated film that premiered in the summer of 2015.

The Despicable Me cartoon series tells the backstory of the minions who served the worst villains who have ever lived on Earth. But by accident, the minions killed all their masters, after which they remained in the ice cave. And later, three of them (Kevin, Stuart and Bob) go to New York in search of a new villain master.

Gru Felonious Mexon is the protagonist/anti-hero of the film. A supervillain, but he actually has a good side. A long-nosed and *******-looking man, approximately 40 years old. Cunning, brave, strict and harsh. In the original, the character is voiced by Steve Carell in all films.

Doctor Nefario is an old scientist-inventor, Gru's confidant and best friend.

Agnes is the youngest girl, very kind, mischievous and simple-minded. Loves toy unicorns, especially big and fluffy ones.

Carl is one of the minions. He belongs to the one-eyed low minions. Carl is very cheerful and often gets too involved in what he is doing.

Minions are yellow creatures that look like plastic cylindrical boxes. They have one or two eyes and wear round glasses. They speak their own language, although sometimes they pronounce quite intelligible phrases. Some phrases are in English, some repeated phrases are in Italian. Gru knows all the minions by sight and name (although there may be several thousand of them), takes care of them and calls them hard workers (which does not prevent him from using minions in his experiments). The minions respond to this with undisguised adoration and devotion. In the separate film "Minions" it is said that they themselves evolved, although it is possible that Gru experimented with them and even increased their original numbers through genetic engineering.
