groot is a fictional character that appears in comics published by marvel comics. its first version was created by stan lee, jack kirby and **** ayers, first appearing in "tales to astonish" #13 (november 1960). in this version groot was a creature with the appearance of a humanoid tree, which sought out alien beings to use in scientific experiments.
