Minnie Mouse is an anthropomorphic mouse, a cartoon character created in 1928 by Walt Disney. The heroine's full name is Minerva Mouse, but it is rarely used in cartoons. Minnie is portrayed as Mickey Mouse's love interest, as well as Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow's best friend.
Minnie Mouse first appeared in the silent cartoon Airplane Crazy (1928). In the story, Mickey invited Minnie to join him on his first airplane flight. She accepted the invitation, but turned down Mickey when he offered her a kiss mid-flight. Minnie is a mouse with a sensitive, romantic character. She is smart, resourceful, sympathetic and brave-hearted. The ability to see beauty and harmony where others do not see often helps her out of ridiculous situations. Other characters take advantage of her kindness, but the heroine is not offended. She wants to help everyone and everyone, steadfastly solving problems of both friends and enemies and is not afraid to sacrifice herself to save others. Mickey appreciates his beloved for her perseverance and tenderness, for her vulnerability and sensitivity. Minnie is a cute and very attractive mouse. Her sweet voice adds to her charm. The beauty and femininity of the heroine is emphasized by her outfits - fluffy skirts, lace pantaloons, high-heeled shoes.
Minnie's image was supposed to reflect the flapper culture and fashion trends of the youth culture of her time, in particular, the love of the color red. She was also supposed to appear in blue and green outfits. In Iwerks's early black-and-white cartoons, she has a large rectangular underwear patch above her tail.
In the 1940s, Minnie's outfit was revised: her eyes became more distinct, the small hat with a protruding flower on her head was replaced by a flower attached between her ears, and then a bow became a signature feature of the look. The mouse also got small bows on her shoes.
