This project contains three parts that can assist you in creating a drop/pickup mechanism for drone challenge competitions. It has a base that attaches to the underside of your mini drone. It has a finger or claw that swings from the base. It contains a pivot from which you can attach links of various lengths to accommodate varying payload sizes. This mechanism was designed to use the following actuator (https://www.servocity.com/hitec-linear-servo-1-2-stroke-1-2-sec-6-8lb-thrust/). It provides 3kg of torque and a 30mm stroke to facilitate your payload pickup. All it needs is a PWM signal, a few fasteners and your linkage and you are set!

The best material to use for this build is a polycarbonate filament. The source for the hardware used for this project: Linear servo: www.servocity.com Claw ring: 40mm binder ring (any office supply) Linkage: 7mm wide aluminum strips (any craft store) Nuts and bolts: www.mcmaster.com
