Description

Lin Ling (Chinese: 林凌, Lín Líng) is the protagonist of the To Be Hero X donghua series' first arc. After witnessing the popular hero Nice (Chinese: 奈斯, Nài sī) commit suicide, he is forced by his manager to assume the latter's identity. However, unable to bear lying to the public, he eventually comes clean and develops his own hero persona, The Commoner, becoming the tenth-ranked hero.

Prior to becoming the new Nice, Lin Ling had dark brown hair and dark eyes with his complexion being darker than that of Nice, as well as his voice being higher than that of Nice. Since his face resembled Nice a lot, he was allowed to live and in turn, become the next Nice. Gaining the trust of his fans, his appearance and body would morph to further match that of Nice, making him effectively a one-to-one copy of Nice.

As Nice, Lin Ling is a slender, physically fit young man with coiffed white hair and powder-blue eyes. His hero costume consists of a pristine, form fitting white costume with elaborate gold accents that run down his chest, arms and legs, with a collar tightly fastened at the neck. He sports a white cape, as well as white boots, both featuring gold accents. A blue gemstone sits at the center of his chest and appears to act as a conduit for Trust. When needed, he is able to manifest gold wrist gauntlets to assist in melee combat.

After rejecting his identity as Nice, his hair changes into a lighter brown color, with a streak of white hair. As The Commoner he wears a black and white tracksuit, fingerless black gloves, and a white belt with a sun-like logo.
