Valais is a canton in southern Switzerland. It is home to the pyramid-shaped Matterhorn mountain peak, as well as prestigious Alpine ski resorts and vineyards in the Rhone Valley. At the foot of the mountain is the resort town of Zermatt with numerous ski slopes and walking trails.
