mecavolt is a construction game based on 3d printed blocks and bolted joints. from the same origin of the system -back in 2019 summer- the following criteria have been followed:simple design so that the blocks can be printed on any home or school 3d printer.
modular design of the blocks from multiples of 3mm.
wide tolerances so that the connections between blocks are possible even if the printer is not well calibrated.
very stable joints with easy to obtain m3 screws and nuts in any hardware or diy store.
easy to combine with other components such as electric motors, servomotors, sensors, microcontrollers, programmable boards, etc.
possibility of expansion and creation of new compatible blocks thanks to clear and simple design rules.
mecavolt can be used both at home and at school to build static structures, machines, vehicles, robots, and anything that fits in the imagination of children, their parents or their teachers.
mecavolt in the domestic environment is a toy with infinite possibilities: from building a small toy unicorn to a complex programmable robot.
mecavolt in the school environment is a tool to experiment and stimulate the abilities of students in steam (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics). the steam approach allows the learning of these subjects in an integrated and natural way, based on the scientific method (experimentation, trial, error, feedback, etc.), just as we work in real life when we build an object with a practical purpose.
mecavolt, through this innovative and attractive way of learning, allows to develop important skills and competencies in students, such as teamwork, innovation, error learning, emotion management, creativity, culture of effort, improves selfconfidence and the ability to speak in public through the exhibition of works. all this set of personal and social skills gives students the opportunity to be more effective, have complex thinking processes and get feedback from the work of their peers.
mecavolt can be used in the schools for experiment and learning geometry, physics, mechanics, electricity, electronics, robotics, etc.
mecavolt currently has a catalog of more than 130 blocks divided into categories: bars (ba), plates (pl), angular (an), super bars (sb), super angular (sa), gears (ge), pulleys (pu), special blocks (x) to incorporate external components, etc. each of these blocks can be printed in pla (polylactic acid) and whatever color you want. only the tire blocks (ti) must be printed in flexible filament.
