Game ready strong cavalry sword from the War of leauge of Ausburg and War of Spanish Succession, late 17th-early 18th century.
Iron hilt. Multi-branch guard. Octagonal pyramid-shaped pommel. Handle carved in a bias-cut wooden grip. Steel ferrules decorated with lines.
This type of strong sword can be compared to the specimens produced by Nonier in Besançon for the French cavalry around 1688-1713, when the cavalrymen preferred to use these outdated models rather than the 1680 model with a brass hilt.
