Ne Zha (哪吒) is the titular main protagonist of the 2019 Chinese mythology adventure animated film of the same name and its 2025 blockbuster sequel. He is the third son of Li Jing and, Lady Yin and the reincarnation of the Spirit Pearl. He is the best friend of the son of the Dragon King Ao Bing. He is based on the mythology figure of the same name.

He is voiced by Lü Yanting as a child, and by Joseph Cao in his mature form, in Chinese and by Griffin Puatu in English.

Ne Zha is a boy who is often depicted to have a feminine appearance, like all other counterparts. He is a short Chinese boy with black hair in a traditional double bun style at the top of his head. The fire mark on his forehead represents his divine status as a celestial being and also shown as the half of a ying and yang symbol.

Ne Zha is a mischevious and cunning young boy who loves playing pranks on anyone he crosses by. His misbehavior and aggressive nature is said to be due of his demonic origins and mistreatment by the townsfolk. He also is stubborn, impulsive, and often lashes out when frustrated. However, deep down, he longs for acceptance and struggles with his fate. However, he cannot accepted to be tricked by others, causing him to infuriate. Regardless of showing an initial selfishness and indifferent behavior, he ultimately matures, showing courage, selflessness. At the end of the first film, Ne Zha shows his willinglness and commitment to protect cover his protection over the inhabitants of his hometown, sacrificing everything for the sake of his family.
