due to the strange bone formation on the creature's back and the padded 'fat' pockets between it - evolved to absorb and hold moisture in the harsh desert environment - this creature has been domesticated by the planet's sentient beings and used as a riding beast. it's long legs allow it to quickly traverse the scorching ground. it's ornate openings and parasol tail serve to help cool the beast and protect it from the direct sun.
