zil-157 - off-road truck produced by the plant named after likhachev (zil).serially produced since 1958, mainly for the armed forces of the ussr (af).
it was massively used in collective and timber industry enterprises due to its high cross-country ability, unpretentiousness and volume of the body. the zil-157 received special love for its simplicity and reliability in the soviet army, for which it was essentially created. this basically explains such a long serial production, and for a quarter of a century, simultaneously with its descendant zil-131.
