3D Double Cup

A double cup typically refers to two stacked Styrofoam cups—one nested inside the other. On the surface, it’s a practical setup: the outer cup provides insulation and stability, while the inner cup holds the liquid. But in trap culture, it’s much more than that.

A lean double cup is a visual and cultural symbol rooted in Southern hip-hop, especially in Houston and Atlanta trap scenes. Here's a breakdown of what it represents:

What Is a Lean Double Cup?
Physical Setup: It’s two Styrofoam cups stacked together, often filled with a purple-colored drink made by mixing ************-strength cough syrup with soda, typically Sprite or Mountain Dew.

Why Double Cups?: The outer cup insulates and prevents leaks or condensation, while also serving as a stylistic flex. It became iconic in rap visuals—seen in music videos, cover art, and social media.

Cultural Significance
Trap & Southern Rap Symbolism: The double cup is more than just a drink—it’s a symbol of slowed-down, syrupy vibes that match the chopped-and-screwed sound pioneered by DJ Screw.

Aesthetic & Branding: Artists like Future, Lil Wayne, and Three 6 Mafia helped popularize the lean double cup as part of their image. It’s often paired with luxury items, hazy visuals, and moody beats.

Visual Style: You’ll see it illustrated with purple liquid, maybe some ice, and sometimes cartoonish drips or smoke. It’s used in merch, album art, and even 3D modeling for music visuals.

⚠ Real Talk
