Opis

the rommel is the first vessel in the (fictional) bismarck-class. it has seven double barrel rail turrets, four particle pulse cannons, eight rolling spaceframe missile-launchers, and ten phalanx type anti missile. the ships is built for space warfare, so it cannot enter the atmoshpere - to enable reentry it has an intergrated shuttlecraft attached firmly into its hull.

the model is built in lightwave 3d 9.6. each turrets has own maps and they are movable. the main hull uses procedurals and simple 8192pixel wide maps (only lightwave version), or baked huge uv textures (8192x8192; lightwave and others). there are two turret variants for the main turret: one with double railguns, and one with simple and conventional big bore 2ww like. phalanx and ram turrets are real world like turrets (rim116 and phalanx), ppc is completely fictional, but similar to them. thanks to its huge maps the model can be used in some close ups too. coloring in the lwo version can be modified as you wish.

the rommel is designed on the basis of adam uc/igloo magellan class warship, therefore it resembles those vessels. altough there are differences in textures, proportions and geometry (most notably in the turrets) it still can be used as a magellan with little work. based on the lwo version's simple maps you can shape this model to your own needs, for example replacing markings, names, or even texture. the lwo version has an unique version, which uses very simple layered maps and lots of procedurals: based on that you could burn your own modified uv maps with ease.

there are a lower (45k) polygon version of this model, which is more suitable for gaming: it has fewer maps, and simlier geometry. if you want to use the rommel only for gaming, and don't want to tinker with the maps, the lowpoly version is for you. if you use it for animation, or want to modify texture, buy this version.
