alexandre caldas portuguese roots chair, was inspired by its original model from 1950, created by gonçalo rodrigues dos santos and designed today by alexandre caldas. an exclusive design in solid wood and natural oil.
the history of this chair goes back to the post-war era, the late forties (40’s).
the chair was original design in metal for outdoors major cafés in lisbon and subsequently to the rest of the country .
after that , the chair had it`s ups and downs due to the market opening, plastic furniture and other products .
although the original model as a long time living among portuguese people, however, for the rest of the world, this chair was unknown since 2013, the year that aroundthetree was born.
