in the 1950's, architect and designer, aero saarinen set forth a goal, to create new meaning and visual appeal to chairs and tables, through sculpting concepts and techniques. the tulip chairs, originally designed as part of his pedestal collection in 1956 was a truly functional work of art.
the views were rendered with mental ray and originally modelled in 3d studio max 7. no special plugins required.
