geometry:

completely polygonal model with low poly mesh that is smoothed with level of smoothness.
use number 1 level for working and fast behavior of the rig and use number 2 or 3 for rendering perfect smooth mesh like in the previews.

rigging:
this character is rigged using a biped that way you can get some amazing controls and poses. face rig with morpher modifier with 37 objectives. check preview images for some interesting poses. possibilities are endless.
