the amelanchier lamarckii has the unique properties that it flowers at the same time as its leafs start to sprout. this is especially beautiful due to its young leaves being the same color as its fall colors.

during the summer the amelanchier has green leaves, making it not stand out much.

then when fall arrives, this bush ones again stands out with its beautiful fall colors, being a mix of orange and yellow.

then when winter comes, this bush lets go of most to all of its leaves and ones again does not stand out much in comparison with other bushes.
