El Mario Boo es una transformación de Super Mario Galaxy que se obtiene mediante el Champiñón Boo, otorgándole a Mario un cuerpo esférico de fantasma con su emblemática gorra roja; esta forma le permite flotar libremente y volverse invisible para atravesar rejillas o paredes de cristal, aunque lo vuelve extremadamente vulnerable a la luz directa, al agua y al daño físico, factores que deshacen el efecto instantáneamente.

Boo Mario is a transformation in Super Mario Galaxy triggered by the Boo Mushroom, turning Mario into a spherical ghost wearing his signature red cap; this form grants him the ability to float through the air and turn transparent to pass through mesh fences or glass walls, though he remains highly sensitive to direct light, water, and physical attacks, all of which will immediately revert him to his normal self.
