Funky was going to appear as a playable character, as seen on the character selection screen in the canceled game Diddy Kong Pilot. After Rare being acquired by Microsoft Game Studios, the game was repurposed as the game Banjo-Pilot for GBA, Funky was replaced with Banjo.
