frieze border ornament - greek style based on a design found in athens, loosely influenced by the shape of plants. used in architecture as ornamental additions or in the decoration of various objects such as vases.

consisting of 4 pieces: middle, end, inner corner, outer corner

each piece has a separate back ('backplate') and front (ornamental florishes).
easy to use with array modifier.
subdivision surface works well for finer detail.
