Description

hades-class battlecruiser

the hades-class battlecruiser is a direct descendant of my previous model (eternal, which is based ondam seed'sdam ex21 model kit). modification has been made on driveblock, docks, hull, turrets, and on almost every parts of the original ship. a lot of detail has been added to enable very close shots. this ships is about 3 times longer (around 900m), features 144 independent turrets (from six turrent classes usable on other projects too), 14 fighterdocks, 1 huge main bay (all with lots of moveable parts, like cranes, doors,etc. and details for in-dock shots). it is designed to service my cerberus v2 droidfighters (not included in this pack), so docks are fully compatible with that model.
this ship is never used in commercial projects, and i'm sure that some of her parts can be useful in other projects too.
the cerberus v2 droidfighters, and the akuma-class transport ships (shown on the pictures) are not included in this pack, but they are available in my portfolio. background pictures are courtesy of nasa.

modeling is done in lightwave 9.6. no special filters necessary. maps are kept quite simple (planar projection maps) to enable simple modifications on them. the whole hull can be repainted to a different color without any retexturing: just replace the hull color map to any other included color scheme (about a dozen are included). all turrets can be moved, rotated, fired independently. the model is close to 3m polygons, and in most cases it utilizes 8192px wide, very high detail hand drawn maps.

there is an fbx and a collada (dae) export, done by lightwave 3d layout's built in fbx/collada export functions. they are geometry only, but the original, mostly procedural based texture's reproduction should be quite easy.
