Description
📌 About the Model
Experience the mesmerizing geometry of the fourth dimension! This Hypercube (Tesseract) is a 3D projection of a 4D cube, featuring a complex "cube-within-a-cube" structure.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, I have developed two distinct versions of this model. Unlike simple scaling, each version has been specifically refined in CAD to maintain the perfect balance between tactile feel and structural integrity.
📐 Version 1: The Desktop Giant (106 mm)
Height: 106 mm
Profile Thickness: 6 mm
Primary Fillets: 2 mm (Outer edges and inner core)
Secondary Fillets: 0.5 mm (All other edges)
Chamfers: 1 mm (Top and bottom faces)
Design Intent: A massive, premium statement piece with deep, smooth fillets for a high-end feel.
📐 Version 2: The Compact Edition (84.6 mm)
Height: 84.6 mm
Profile Thickness: 4.8 mm
Primary Fillets: 1 mm (Outer edges and inner core)
Secondary Fillets: 0.5 mm (All other edges)
Chamfers: 1 mm (Top and bottom faces)
Design Intent: A more portable, "fidget-friendly" version. The 1mm fillets keep the geometry crisp and sharp even at a smaller scale.
⚙️ Print Settings
Optimized for high-quality FDM printing with stable vertical pillars.
Material: PLA, PETG, or Carbon Fiber PLA.
Supports: Can be printed without supports. For absolute perfection on the top horizontal bridges, minimal "tree supports" are recommended.
Infill: 15% (Gyroid).
Walls/Perimeters: 3 walls for maximum rigidity.
⚠️ Important Engineering Note:
Please use the specific file for your desired size. Each version has unique fillet radii (1 mm or 2 mm) tailored for its scale to ensure the best print quality. I do not recommend scaling these files further in your slicer.
🛠️ Pro Tips:
Bed Adhesion: Due to the 1 mm bottom chamfer, I recommend using a Brim (5-8 lines) to ensure the vertical struts stay perfectly stable.
Z-Seam: Set Z-seam to "User Specified" and hide it on an inner corner of the struts for a flawless exterior.
