M-1 Abrams Air Ground Defense System (AGDS) was a proposed air defense variant of the Abrams equipped with dual 35 mm Bushmaster III autocannons, 12 Adats missiles and advanced electro-optical and radar targeting systems derived from the ADATS. It was supposed to be capable of both air defense and anti-tank purposes with the ADATS MIM-146 missiles which was a dual purpose ATGM/SAM. The proposal never saw consideration and was never developed further.
