Description

A man, Dr. Light, walks through a corridor, watching a news broadcast on a tablet of reports of widespread destruction throughout Mega City. A second newscaster reports that his robotic reinforcements have failed to stop his own rampaging machines. He enters his lab, telling a young boy, Rock, that it doesn't make any sense, that Wily has turned Metal Man. He tells him they must try something else and Rock asks how he can help. Dr. Light tells him to open Bay Six.

Rock does so, releasing a large robot. Bomb Man? wonders Rock. Dr. Light tells him that he knows, but that he's powerful enough to stop the others. He presses his hand to the robot, activating it and loads a device into it intended to prevent Wily's outside signals. He calls the robot their last line of defense. I could fight, protests Rock, saying that Dr. Light made him to help. In the lab, Rock, insists Dr. Light. He tells him he's not letting him throw his life away.

A spider-bot enters the lab and races towards Bomb Man. Despite Rock's attempts to stop it, it skitters up towards Bomb Man's head. It stabs through with a surge of energy, causing Bomb Man to turn hostile and launch a fearsome punch towards Dr. Light and Rock. Bomb Man begins launching bombs at them and Dr. Light shouts for Rock to run. Rock, however, does not run. He instead uses the arm attachment given to him by Dr. Light to launch a blast of energy towards Bomb Man. It succeeds in freezing Bomb Man's bomb-launching arm off. The robot collapses atop Dr. Light.

Rock shouts, apologizing, but Dr. Light is okay. He shouts again that he's sorry, then the spider-bot launches itself atop his head. Energy surges through him and he points his arm at Dr. Light. He, however, succeeds at retaining control and grabs the bot, tossing it away and then blasting it to bits with energy. He falls to the ground, apologizing again, but Dr. Light tells him to stop, that what he just did was amazing. He tells him he was wrong, that it doesn't matter what he made him for, that this is what he was meant for. He offers him his hand, pulling him up.

Dr. Light takes Rock to his laboratory table. There, he encases him in a suit of blue armor with an upgraded energy-blasting arm. Using a teleporter, he sends him out into Mega City, tossing him a blue helmet as a last gift. He dons the helmet, staring forth, smiling.
