Description

Natsuki Subaru (ナツキ・スバル) is the main protagonist of Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu. A former hikikomori, he was transported to Lugunica through unknown means, where he was given the Authority which he calls Return by Death by Satella and became the knight of the Kingdom and the personal knight of the Royal Selection Candidate Emilia.Although he came from another world, Subaru has shown to be mysteriously connected to the history of the new world, having a strange yet deep connection to the Witch of Envy and the other Witches of Sin, knowledge of the stars that are deeply connected to important locations and personages across the world, the strange ability to gather Witch Factors within his body, and most curiously, bearing the candidacy to become a Sage. Following the events of one failed loop, Subaru is now determined to uncover the world's and the Kingdom's history, as he believes he can no longer remain ignorant of it.

In the Sloth What-IF story, where Subaru chose to abandon Emilia to run away with Rem, Subaru's hair was longer. Although he kept his basic messy hairstyle, Subaru now had a clump of hair up in a ponytail, apparently influenced by the style of Wilhelm van Astrea. Furthermore, he ditched his signature tracksuit, for a more comfortable and environment-specific dark-blue kimono and a pair of simple wooden zori. In the Gluttony IF, Subaru had given himself a scar on his head that damaged his eye and blinded it, and his hair had also turned white. In the Sasageru IF, Subaru had properly aged during the course of 40 years, and his hair had turned white.
