The design of the new wing has many similarities with the rear wing of the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, as shown in the image above. The main differences can be found in the size of the upper side winglet (C), which is wider in the Hyundai, thus leaving smaller space for air to flow between the endplate and the support. The wider winglet allows to get more downforce, but at the cost of higher air resistance (drag). Also note the presence of a small Gurney flap in the Hyundai’s lower winglet (D), which makes it more effective.
