Permitted (Temporary) copies

I see a model I'd like 3D Printed into a figure. Can I buy the model, and furnish a copy of it for a printing service to make the figure with? Does the printing company have to delete it afterwards?

Oh course they have to, they don't magically gain the rights to do further business with it because YOU bought it here.

Maybe if you by "furnish" mean incredible amounts of changes done to the model, then and only then it could be considered its own thing not bound any longer by the license agreement with 3DExport and its seller. But if you plan on going that route, purchase the extended license for a start!

Then again, you can always message and start a conversation about these things with the actual seller, and see how they feel about all this, or what options they can offer you.

I might do that, but for now I just wanted to make sure that it's possible to make necessary copies of the files obtained for things like printing, and yes I would ask the printer to erase it once he's done with it.

To be honest to print multiple copies, even if the files get eventually deleted, is a touchy area. Officially going, if these copies are for financial gain, you would be required to purchase an extended license per each. So you just might be much better off by talking through a deal with the actual seller cutting out the middle man.

But you can greatly remedy the situation by changing the item greatly to your liking before printing, also get it painted, and then a single extended license should be fine since YOUR end-product is just too much your own now.

My intention is to make 1 figure, for my own private home use only, specifically as a homebrew addition for a board game.

Oh that's nothing to worry about then, just the regular license, and explicit notice towards the 3d printing service that you don't give permission for them to keep the file.
