Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Ensure new technologies and footwear digital design processes are implemented into the creative teams, supporting the creators as a key strategic asset to the brand
Build and execute on training and implementation plans within new and existing tools for footwear product creation processes, keeping the teams across the brand at the leading edge of innovation
Test solutions and establish footwear design creation processes within the BU’s, with the 3D design team to meet the brands goals and maintain leadership in the sporting goods industry

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with footwear designers across the brand to

Drive the use of footwear tool and process innovations within your assigned business unit, ultimately helping position our brand as a technology and thought leader in the creative realm.
Facilitate communication on innovative and complex technologies to inspire and lead your BU in the adoption of new design methods and tools.
Execute creation of 3D footwear through surface modelling, generative design, sculpting, and material and hardware application, as well as visualization and rendering.
Engage with creators across the organisation to support adidas in being recognized as the creator brand.
Identify opportunities of improvement in your assigned BU and advise changes to the end to end process.

Training and Implementation

With your team lead, effectively implement the new footwear approach fallowing the digital creation strategic goals, helping plan and deliver trainings
Empower and engage the creators in your BU rolling out new digital footwear tool solutions with clarity, effectively on-boarding your assigned BU
Organize testing for new technologies and processes helping provide fact-based feedback and requirements to IT
Collaborate with designers to ensure targeted results and community awareness
Consult with cross-functional team members to ensure end-to-end benefits are achieved

Key Relationships:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Highly knowledgeable about creative technologies
Enjoy communicating with the creative teams
Highly skilled in Footwear creation using Rhino + Grasshoper and Zbrush, with a plus in using Jia from the foundry or comparable tools (Rhino = Alias or other nurbs modelling) (Grasshopper = Houdinin), (Zbrush = Mudbox, freeform) (Jia = Shoemaker, Icad3D+)
Expert in Modo or comparable 3D applications (Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema 4D), including creating polygonal 3D models of product and advanced knowledge of rendering/lighting setup, color and shading.
Expert in sketching and drawing methods (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, with other apps being nice to have)
Strong visual skills with the ability to create impactful/exciting visuals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, designers, and other employees of the organization
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Experience designing footwear and/or apparel product is a plus
Experience in scripting, coding and programming is a plus

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

Under-graduate level Design, Technical Design, 3D, or related education experience
At least 3 Years of experience in 3D Visualization or Design.
Experience with the entire product design process (project scope and time planning, design steps, production/execution of design solution)
Professional and proficient English, verbal and written
Passion for adidas and it’s mission
