Lead Character Artist CG Jobs
Job Description
As a Lead Character Artist, you will be in charge of the team at Wolcen Studio and take part in developing new objects, characters and creatures for our our new exciting project.
This can be an on-site and/or partial remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and sculpting characters while considering game design constraints and respecting a strong artistic direction.
- Act as a technical referent for questions related to the creation of characters.
- Support artists on good practices related to the development of game characters/monsters and 3D objects.
- Work close to the Animation and VFX team to bring life to the characters.
- Modeling and Texturing 3d assets with the team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience creating characters and 3D objects for games
- A good eye for scuplting, detailing and posture
- Mastery of Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Marvelous Designer.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with the team
- Advanced English skills
- Advanced knowledge of Substance Designer is a plus
- Ability to multitask with strict time constraints, budgets and business goals
About Company
We are Wolcen Studio, an ambitious and expanding video game company headquartered in Nice, France, with talented employees across two European hubs (Nice and Bucharest) but we are also embracing the full remote option.
Formed in 2015 following the successful funding campaign of our first title, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, the company has subsequently grown from a handful of driven individuals to a full studio of 90 people. Our flagship title Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem was fully released in February 2020 and the studio has been supporting the game with content and updates since. A second studio, Wolcen East in Bucharest, Romania, was formed in September 2020 to help deliver our long-term plans for both the game and future projects.
