Description

Created based on the film Lord of the Rings, an almost exact copy of Aragorn's sword, then remade by me and with additional textures.

Narsil (correctly rendered as Narsil; Sindh: Narsil) is a sword in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. It was forged in the First Age by the Dwarf Telchar, the finest weaponsmith of Nogrod. This Dwarf also forged the Helm of Hador, later wielded by Túrin Turambar, as well as the dagger Angrist, which belonged to the Noldor prince Curufin, son of Fëanor, and which was later taken as a trophy by Beren.

Who the sword was forged for and its history in the First and Second Ages remain a mystery. It is only known that Elendil brought it to Middle-earth from the dying Númenor. Narsil was used in the War of the Last Alliance against Sauron.

During a duel with Sauron at the foot of Mount Orodruin, King Elendil was slain by the Enemy, and his sword was broken in two by the weight of Elendil's body. In despair, his son, Prince Isildur, seized a shard of Narsil to defend himself from the Enemy. With this shard, he managed to cut the finger bearing the One Ring from Sauron's black hand, causing him to disembody. The sword became a symbol of desperate hope. During a battle with orcs in the Valley of Irises, the shards of Narsil were rescued by Ohtar, Isildur's squire. He took them to Rivendell, to Isildur's youngest son, Valandil.

Narsil became a family heirloom of the royal house of Arnor, and after the destruction of the Northkingdom, it remained a relic of the Rangers of the North.

The sword was reforged by Elven smiths, after which it once again shone with the light of the Sun and Moon. Engraved on the blade were a sun with many rays, a crescent moon, and seven stars between them, with many runes inscribed around them. Aragorn gave the reforged sword a new name: Anduril, meaning "Flame of the West."
